Respected Businessman Stephen Botha Dies in Tragic Incident

State coroner rules cause of death as suicide

The community of Riverview was left in shock this past weekend following the tragic passing of well-known businessman Stephan Botha (52). Botha, a respected figure in the logistics and infrastructure sector, was found at his residence in what authorities have described as an apparent suicide.

Emergency services were called to the scene late Saturday evening, where Botha was declared deceased upon arrival. The State Coroner’s Office confirmed on Monday that an autopsy determined the cause of death to be self-inflicted, ruling out any foul play.

Botha was the CEO of Botha & Co. Logistics, a family-run business with strong ties to several national infrastructure projects. Known for his business acumen and charitable contributions to local causes, his passing has left a void in both the corporate sector and his close-knit community.

He is survived by his wife, Sonia Botha, and their three children.

In a brief statement, the Botha family expressed their deep sorrow:
"We are devastated by the loss of our husband and father. We ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time."

Close colleagues and industry partners have described Botha as a driven yet compassionate leader, with many taking to social media to express their condolences.
